Professor Pinkerton’s Irrelevant Orchestra has flourished for over a decade with their unique revival of American roots music. The band consists of a changing lineup of the region’s finest instrumentalists playing the music they love: early jazz, country blues, and speakeasy swing.
Emerging as the musical component to Professor Pinkerton’s live circus show, “Dead Man’s Carnival,” the band takes showmanship seriously. Led by the vivacious Prof. Pinkerton, they refuse to fade into the background like wallpaper.
Come see, hear, and dance to the band made famous by Professor Pinkerton’s Christmas Caravan, which brought joy on wheels to Milwaukeeland in the cold, dark ‘demic days of December 2020. Celebrating the hall’s 75th year, The Irrelevant Orchestra takes to the elevated stage at the vintage Chivaree Ballroom on the first night of Mardi Gras ’24!
